Heybridge Dental Practice offers both Enlighten and Pola teeth whitening.

Teeth whitening is the most popular cosmetic dental procedure, and it’s easy to see why. You can turn your smile from dark to dazzling both rapidly and affordably. It is one of the cheapest cosmetic treatments available in dentistry and can make a noticeable difference in your smile within just 2 weeks. Why not contact us today to see how we can help.

How white will my teeth get? Enlighten Whitening can whiten up to 16 shades. Results vary, but if used correctly all teeth will whiten dramatically. Pola Whitening can whiten up to 6-8 shades. Natural teeth rarely look too white. Sometimes very white crowns can look wrong because they are made of porcelain.

Will my teeth just keep getting whiter the longer I use the gel?
No – they will reach a plateau; Whitening should be discontinued when the teeth do not appear to change any further or when desired shade is reached.

Is it safe? Is there any pain?
It is completely safe. You may get some sensitivity, however your dentist will provide solutions to reduce or eliminate this sensitivity. If you teeth are generally a little sensitivity, it is suggested that you go for Enlighten Whitening as it’s package is targeted to minimize sensitivity. You will be given easy to use desensitising swabs to take home, which will work immediately. You will also receive a tube of Tooth Serum toothpaste to brush with while you wait for your trays. This also helps with sensitivity. The materials used in both Enlighten and Pola Whitening have been used in dentistry for over 100 years.

Does it damage your teeth?
No. There are no long-term side-effects of tooth whitening. The sensitivity that some people may experience with teeth whitening is only a short-term effect and will subside within a few days of stopping whitening.

How long does it take?
Two weeks after your dentist delivers your Whitening trays. These are thin and comfortable and must be worn in bed for 14 nights.

How long does it last?
Results can last indefinitely with some very simple maintenance. Wearing the trays for 1 night every 1-2 months will help maintain the results and keep staining to a minimum. Continuing to brush with Tooth Serum will also prolong results.

Will my fillings, crowns and veneers change colour?
No, sometimes you may need to change some of these after whitening. NB: this will be an additional charge.

Is teeth whitening safe during pregnancy?
It is not recommended to use teeth whitening products during pregnancy.

Can I drink tea, coffee, red wine or smoke during the treatment?
Yes, in moderation.

Will I have to pay to whiten my teeth again in the future?
No. As long as you still have your whitening trays, you can simply purchase top-up gels at a fraction of the initial cost.

How much does it cost?
Enlighten Whitening – from £499 Enlighten top-up gels – from £100 Pola Whitening – from £280 Pola top-up gels – from £60
